This week the Makeup Wars team is sharing our Favorite Highlighters! I could have made this post humungous but I opted to instead focus on the few highlighters I reach for probably 80% of the time. I certainly have more in my stash that I adore, but these are my true go to’s. All of my favorite highlighters are powder formulas as these are the kinds of products I tend to prefer. I have some absolutely stunning liquid and cream highlighters in my collection, but powders are what I typically reach for as I just find them quicker and more effortless to use.

My Favorite Highlighters - 3

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Pearl, Champagne Pop, and Rose Gold

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfectors Pressed ($38 US/$46 CAD) are my current favorite highlighter formula. I can’t believe it took me so long to try these, but the release of Champagne Pop was the first time I really tried the product. I fell madly in love with the incredible glow and sheen these give the skin without shimmer or glitter particles. They offer an ultra fine luminescent pearl pigment and a unique process that blends the pigments with proprietory liquid binders that give the Shimmering Skin Perfectors an effortless, smooth, and even application. You can apply lightly for a natural glow, or easily build it up to a full on metallic sheen. The powder is creamy, richly pigmented, and smooth with no powderyness or powder kick up.

My Favorite Highlighters - 2

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone

My favorite shades are:

  • Moonstone (pale gold) this is a beautiful pale nude gold that works beautifully on fair skin as it is a soft pale shade that is quite neutral.
  • Pearl (soft luminescent white) I have this shade in my Champagne Glow palette and will be picking up the full pan now that it is available in full size!
  • Champagne Pop (soft white gold w/ pinky peach undertones) This shade is unique and absolutely beautiful. It may be a bit warm for my skin but I don’t care. It’s too stunning not to wear. I have it in full size as well as the Champagne Glow Palette.

My Favorite Highlighter - 1

Another new highlighter that promptly made it’s way to my favorites is the Dior Diorskin Nude Air Glowing Gardens Illuminating Powder in Glowing Pink ($64 CAD). This is the perfect pink toned highlighter that I’ve been looking for. It is pink, but not too pink, and melds perfectly into my skin. It offers a gorgeous glow that can be applied more softly or built up for a more dramatic shine. It has the finish I like in a highlighter, which is a refined glow without glitter or sparkle.

Dior Glowing Pink | Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Moonstone, Pearl, Champagne Pop

The next illuminator that is on my wishlist is the Becca Backlight Priming Filter ($38 US/$ CAD). I want it so bad! Do you have it? What are your favorite highlighters?
